Dream Vacay: Rooftops, Pools, And Views Worth Saving Money For

1 Mar

If I’m caught daydreaming, chances are I’m dreaming about Boris Kodjoe a beach, fresh air, and hidden creature noises from sources unknown. Out of the hundred or so places I’d love to visit, here are my top picks, my so-called bucket-list of dream spots to visit should that celeb dream life come to fruition.

The SkyPark – Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore

Only hotel guests can use the hotel’s rooftop infinity pool, but if the view is all you’re after, $20 USD can grant you all-day play on the observation deck adjacent to the pool.

Ubud Hanging Gardens, Bali

Nestled in the heart of Bali, this lush sanctuary is a perfect little hideaway to commune with nature. The private pools are as tantalizing as the main pool and deck.

 Amangiri – Canyon Point, Utah

Rocky backdrops and beautiful sunsets couldn’t collaborate for a better beauty. If jungle serenity is not for you, perhaps the desert can bring some solace.

Four Seasons –  Mumbai, India

Aer, the city’s tallest rooftop bar, makes Four Seasons Mumbai worth a stop for a drink. The rooftop pool also looks like a great spot to lounge and cool down from the sweltering heat.

Vertigo – Banyan Tree Hotel, Bangkok

Drinks after work anyone? Vertigo looks like the perfect spot to experience the thrill of unwinding.

Mustique, St. Vincent and The Grenadines

The Caribbean island of Mustique is a private island. The Mustique Company rents approximately 100 unique homes epitomizing exclusivity, tranquility, and luxury. (Privately: Great spot to rendez-vous with C.B., Riri. Yo’ bidness is yo’ bidness.)

The Conrad Maldives, Rangali Island

I’ve Imagined this precise scenario as a child, falling asleep to fish and stingrays swimming above my bed, but I must admit I didn’t think about dining with fish and stingrays swimming around me!

Hotel Punta Tragara –  Capri, Italy

Just pass me a glass of red, and give me this view. Specifically I want to sit in that bathtub in Punta Tragara’s Art Suite and write a romance novel.

Le Sirenuse – Positano, Italy

Beachfront, cliffside, rooftop, poolside, views? Nestled next to a cathedral in a historic town, this hotel scores big in all areas.

Devil’s Pool, Victoria falls –  Zambia

This natural pool at the edge of a 90 ft. waterfall is an international wonder. I most likely will never make this trip because only the strongest of swimmers can navigate the treacherous path to the edge, but it’s a beauty worth noting nonetheless. If you’re planning to head out there, you must travel between August-December when the water levels are low.

Tsala Treetop Lodge  – Harkerville, South Africa

Luxury flavored by the wild, perched among treetops. The only rough bits are the terrain.

Hotel Joule –  Dallas, Texas

Featuring a 10th floor pool and a renowned restaurant, Charlie Palmer, Hotel Joule is certainly one of Dallas’ jewel’s worth seeing.

Ladera – Soufriere, St. lucia

What a great honeymoon spot. Swing towards The Pitons as your feet graze the waters of your private pool.
